Probability is such a fascinating thing, isn’t it?

In all my years nothing has intrigued me more than the concept of this eternal guessing game based in numbers and past experiences.

Truly, life before these anomalies is something I’d give anything to go back to, solely due to the return of the predictability of the world around me.

And perhaps someday I will… though, so far it seems quite farfetched of a concept.

Something completely unpredictable and unknowable, looming over us at all times. A horror story for mathematicians around the globe.
An ever-present variable mashed into every logarithm and equation, with no way to solve for it.

There truly will be no telling what the future will hold.

Or well, at least in regards to the world around us.

You see, in these same years I’ve spent day after day desperately trying to assign numbers to an impossible concept, I discovered patterns somewhere else. Somewhere much more, human.

We humans just love taking the stupidest routes possible for nearly everything we do. It’s just in our nature to walk down the dark spooky thorn riddled path simply because it’s closer to us than any of the others.

Humans have and simply always will be driven by one thing: Emotions.

If you put someone in a situation where they had to choose between a complete stranger or someone they care about of course they’d pick the one they have an attachment to. It’s just common knowledge.

And if you put someone in a situation where it’s either their life or someone else’s.

Self-preservation will nearly always prevail.
